Nadia V. Christopher has died; Civil servants, family in mourning

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Ministry of Communications and Works, the Public Works Department and the wider public sector, as well as immediate family and friends, were thrown into a state of shock and heartbreak with the passing yesterday November 9, 2017 of young Virgin Islander, Ms Nadia V. Christopher.
The civil servant passed away at Peebles Hospital in Road Town after a brief illness. She was 37 years of age, having been born January 4, 1980.
Ms Christopher started out her civil service career in the Information Technology Unit of Government.
Rising star in civil service
The young Virgin Islander then moved to the Ministry of Communications and Works where she served as Personal Assistant to the Permeant Secretary.
She again quickly moved up the ladder as she was promoted to the Public Works Department, one of the biggest Departments in Government, as the Human Resources Manager. She holds Bachelor and Master’s Degrees.
The late Ms Christopher is the niece of businesswoman and Vice President of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College Ms Judith Vanterpool, who is the wife of Honourable Mark H. Vanterpool (R4)- the Minister for Communications and Works.
The deceased is also survived by both of her parents.
