Basseterre, St. Kitts, 3rd June, 2017 (MyVueNews.com) – Music Festival officials announced the much awaited bonus act for the 2017 St. Kitts Music Festival as K Michelle.
The announcement was made Friday, 2nd June, at the Music Festival edition of the FLOW Fantastic Friday event held at Cheers on Port Zante.
Amidst a much excited audience, the announcement was made and approved with a round of applause and cheers.
K. Michelle (Kimberly Michelle Pate) is an R&B singer and songwriter who has had several successful albums, including popular covers Rebellious Soul, Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart? and More Issues than Vogue.
She is also a television personality, a guitarist and a pianist.
K. Michelle takes center stage at the St. Kitts Music Festival on Saturday, 24th June, at Warner Park Events Stadium.
According to Ambassador Jonel Powell, the chairman of the Artistes Selection Committee, the bonus act came as a result of one of the artistes not being able to perform as intended, as a result, a new artiste was sought.
But about the new act, Ambassador Powell said, “She brings a bit of flare. She would attract a younger demographic. Her popularity is quite wide – tv personality, singer/songwriter, been on two VH1 TV Series… She is well accomplished and just that alone adds to the whole experience of the Music Festival.”
Speaking on the fast approaching St. Kitts Music Festival, 22nd June to 24th June, 2017, Chairman Powell said, “For those person who have not made up their minds to come, do what you can to ensure that you are here.”
The Music Festival this year is going to be slightly different, he said, in terms of some of the genres and artistes.
“But, I believe the performances are going to be fantastic. This year is really going to stand out as something different,” the chairman of the Artistes Selection Committee said.
And on the economic benefits, Powell said, “When you look at hotels, they have been booked out for that weekend for weeks, which is something that has never happened that early.”
He continued, “There is a lot of buzz. There is a lot of excitement. There is a lot of people who normally would not have come, who have decided to be here. It is going to be amazing, and I just want to encourage people to be here for the event.”
