Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is planning to open a resort in St. Kitts.
When it opens in 2021, the resort, which Range Developments will develop on the site of a former sugar cane plantation, will have 70 pool villas.
The Six Senses St. Kitts will be developed on the western side of the island near the capital city Basseterre, the International Airport (SKB), Sandy Point Town and Brimstone Hill, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Six Senses is only the latest luxury brand to gain ground in St. Kitts. Last month, Ritz-Carlton announced that as part of an agreement with The Liamuiga Corporation, it would open the brand’s first property on the island. The Ritz-Carlton St. Kitts is also slated to open in 2021, setting the stage for luxury competition.
Six Senses is looking to triple its portfolio of 11 properties over the next five years. Six Senses already has resort, hotel and spa projects underway in Austria, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Egypt, Fiji, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Nicaragua, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia and the U.S. These new hotels will join Six Senses’ other properties in Seychelles, Oman, Fiji, France, the Maldives, Thailand, Singapore, Turkey, Vietnam, Portugal and China.
The upcoming Six Senses resort is also Range Development’s latest project. The developer recently completed the Park Hyatt St. Kitts in Banana Bay, which opened on Nov. 17, 2017.
Now, Range is developing the Cabrits Resort Kempinski on Douglas Bay in Dominica—the first government-approved real estate project in Dominica under the country’s Citizenship by Investment Program. The 160-room hotel and spa in the Cabrits National Park is being designed by Arcadia Design Architects.
Range is also developing the 180-room Ritz-Carlton St. Lucia. The hotel, which is slated to open in 2021, is in the developer’s Black Bay Master Development in Vieux Fort near the Hewanorra International Airport.
