ST JOHN’S, Antigua, Aug 10 2016 – Two Vincentian nationals have been held in Antigua with hashish oil and marijuana.

On Sunday 07th August, 2016, the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) conducted a counter-drug operation on an apartment complex in the Creekside area.

This resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Junior Forde of Hodges Bay and 33-year-old Curtis Williams, both Vincentian nationals, and a seizure of three packages of hashish oil with a combined weight of 8lbs 6ozs.

A quantity of cannabis was also seized in another apartment within the complex. The hashish oil is estimated to have a wholesale value of EC$33,500.00.

The men have been charged with possession of hashish oil, Possession with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of hashish oil. They are expected to make a court appearance in the St. John’s Magistrate Court today to answer to these charges.

Additionally, Mandella Spencer alias “Mel /Yankee” is being sought by the ONDCP in connection with the ongoing investigation. Spencer arrived at the complex during the operation where he was approached by officers who identified themselves and ordered him to stop. Spencer refused to comply and began maneuvering recklessly, while he made good his escape.  Several other tenants at and visitors to the complex were questioned, searched and subsequently released during the operation.
