The US Virgin Islands continue to be plagued by what seems to be an unrelenting series of brutal murders and shootings on both St.Thomas and St. Croix. Over the weekend two more men were murdered , one on each island.

On Saturday night September 4th  A St. Thomas man was shot and killed and a woman injured during a shooting incident near the V.I. Territorial Emergency Management Agencyheadquarters on Moravian Highway. Jamal Meade, 26, was killed in a hail of gunfire and an unidentified woman received gunshot injuries.

Police officials said Meade and the woman were stopped in a vehicle near a bus stop, a stone’s throw from the VITEMA headquarters and 911 Emergency Communications Call Center, when occupants in another vehicle pulled up long side the two and opened fire.

Meade apparently ran from the vehicle but collapsed a short distance away. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

On Sunday Afternoon September 4th a man was found dead in the trunk of a Car on St.Croix. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death but it has been confirmed that there was foul play.

The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Romig Francis.
