St.Vincent and the Grenadines  recorded its 36th and 37th killings for 2017 on Thursday, in a shooting incident that brought to five, the number of persons shot here in four days.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident which took place at Gomea and left Emry Holder, a 19-year-old mechanic of Belair and Orlando Jackson, a 26-year-old labourer of Cane End, dead.

Mendorra Simmons, a 21-year-old unemployed woman of Belair sustained injuries to her left thigh in the same incident. She is currently a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH).

Reports are that the victims were walking along the public road when an unknown assailant approached them and began shooting.

This is the third shooting incident this week. At around 8:20 pm last Monday, Anthony “Shadow” Edwards, a local businessman was shot at Wallilabou Bay. Edwards, the proprietor of the Pirate’s Retreat Bar and Restaurant was at his business place when he was shot in his right arm. Police say that Edwards was shot during a robbery attempt by two masked assailants.

Also, Malachi Kingman, a 58-year-old painter and farmer from Calder was at his home around 8.28 p.m. Wednesday when he was shot in his chest and right shoulder. He is currently a patient at the MCMH.
