St.Kitts Womens Soccer Star Named Player of the Year in US Conference

Kittitian Chelsey Harris of Lehman College was named the CUNYAC Player of the Year. Jasmine Fermin of Brooklyn College was named the CUNYAC Defense Player of the Year as Lauren Smith of Staten Island was named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year. Lehman’s Head Coach Casey Melilli was named the CUNYAC Coach of the Year.

Chelsey Harris of Lehman was named CUNYAC Player of the Year after playing a crucial role on the Lightning’s team just as a freshman. Harris scored an outstanding 25 goals this season in 16 games. She also dished out nine assists helping Lehman advance to the CUNYAC Championship Game.

“I feel fortunate to be playing in the championships my freshman year and with prolonged tenacity, I hope that we will be successful. These are memories that will stay with me forever. Thank you for adding another great memory to my vault. There is no amount of steps that you can take to win at life without passion. I’m grateful that I get to share the field with equally passionate teammates some whom compliment my feistiness and others to keep the balance.” said Harris.
