BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Tuesday 29th October 2019) – Information received indicates that a young man from St.Kitts has been shot dead in the neighbouring island of St. Maarten.

It is understood that the incident took place yesterday afternoon (Monday) outside Stephanie Mini Marche in an area called Middle Region around 4:45PM.

Although the identity of the young man is known, such information is being withheld at this time pending confirmation except to inform that the deceased hailed from the St.Peter’s community and is 19-years-old .

According to information gleaned from media house The Daily Herald in St.Maarten, two persons were killed and two others injured following that shooting incident.

It is said that a vehicle pulled up into a parking lot in front of the store before the shooting and that a gunman dressed in black and wearing a mask stepped out of the vehicle and opened fire on a group of young men who were in the area, and afterwards fled the scene using the vehicle.
