St.Kitts-Nevis Students Association (SKNSA), at the University of the West Indies CaveHill Campus President Dennis Mccall Jr.

by Siobhan Phipps,

Gearing up for what is expected to a redefining year for the St.Kitts-Nevis Students Association (SKNSA), at the University of the West Indies CaveHill Campus, the newly elected executive of SKNSA-CaveHill is undoubtedly sure that the efforts of the association during the upcoming academic year 2017-2018 will revive the association, and bring it back on its feet.

After their most recent elections, the SKNSA executive for the academic year 2017-2018 includes: President – Dennis McCall Jr, Vice President – Phylicia Warner-Nolan, Secretary – Evania Thibou, Treasurer – Liandra Edwards, Returning Officer – DeJono Liburd, Public Relations Officer – Siobhan Phipps and Cultural Officer – Denel Dixon.

These 7 young and vibrant St.Kitts-Nevis nationals, are charged with the task of redefining SKNSA along with the assistance of the members of the association. Despite their association being one of the smallest ones at the UWI CaveHill Campus, some of their plans for the year include secondary school visits to educate future potential SKNSA members about UWI, small fundraisers to strengthen the association’s financial position, create a new logo for SKNSA CaveHill, and hopefully the hosting of what is anticipated to be their major project for the year, the introduction of an all male pageant on the CaveHill Campus catering to both regional and international male students. The newly formed executive also wishes to extend an invitation to those students on campus whose numbers may be too small to form their own association, to join SKNSA as an honorary member and as a result promote regional integration.

SKNSA encourages the general public to lend their support however they can and to keep up to date with all their activities via their social media pages including Facebook and Instagram at “SKNSA CaveHill”. The executive of the association promises to make the best of the upcoming academic year, all in efforts to redefine and revive SKNSA by representing the nation in Barbados!
