St.Kitts-Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris is currently leading a high powered delegation at the United Nations in New York. PM Harris is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister And Nevis Premier Hon. Mark Brantley with significant support from SKN UN Ambassador His Exceelency Sam Condor in addition to Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister Andrew Skerrittr . The delgation gave great support at the health forum where PM Harris delivered a powerful country statement on universal health coverage

PM Harris challenged heads of delegation to examine the interrelationships between the SDGs and to note the negative impact of climate change on health systems and that graduation based on per capita alone denies small states the resources needed to support Universal Health Coverage for all.

The United Nations General Assembly is holding a high-level meeting on universal health coverage. Universal Health Coverage means that all people and communities receive the quality health services they need, without financial hardship. This meeting, under the theme “Universal Health Coverage: Moving Together to Build a Healthier World,” aims to accelerate progress toward universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all. #HealthForAll.
