St.Kitts-Nevis Government Turns Up the Heat on Criminals. Sends for FBI

DR HARRIS FBIBasseterre, St.Kitts (September 14th 2015):- The St.Kitts-Nevis Dr. Timothy Harris led Team UNITY government have announced plans to turn up the heat on criminals. According to Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris in his monthly press conference an official request has been made to the FBI for assistance in the crime fighting activities in the Federation .

The Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Dr Harris told the media at the monthly conference “We have approached the government of the USA and we have solicited their support in bringing FBI into St. Kitts and Nevis to compliment the activities that are taking place,”

Since 2014 56 murders have been recorded in the federation . When the new Team UNITY Government took office in February 2015 the federation had already recorded 7 murders for the year.

“Every homicide is regrettable and ought to be condemned. Every resource of the state must be applied to solve every homicide; no life is more important than the other,” PM Harris stated .

PM Harris indicated that he followed an earlier plea for assistance to US government representatives while at a FACTA gathering in Barbados recently.

PM Harris said “That is the approach we shall take and that is why we have brought in all the support. That is why the last time I was in Barbados it wasn’t just about FACTA, it was just one of the things while I was there, but importantly it was to draw to the attention of the American government the urgency of their support with respect to the FBI coming to St. Kitts and Nevis and rendering assistance in areas in which we need additional support.”
Dr. Harris continued “For us, as with the police, one homicide is too many and the Team Unity government will leave no stone unturned to ensure that we get our country to be the most safe and the most secure country within the region and by extension, in the world.”
