Basseterre, St. Kitts, (February 28, 2016 ): A Police Constable has been detained as a result of his alleged involvement in the introduction of Contraband to wit Marijuana into Her Majesty’s Prison.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (September 27) sometime around 8:30pm.

Police Report indicates that A concurrent investigation into the incident is being conducted by The Criminal Investigations Department and Her Majesty’s Prison.

The Times Caribbean has been reliably informed that the PC Chumney 772 was detained and immediately stripped of his weapon and uniform after a other officers moved in on what was the culmination of a sting operation. It is reported that two shots were fired at the young constable.

 

Commenting on the incident, Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley said, “As upholders of the law, we expect our officers to maintain the highest standards of integrity.
