A few years ago the Team Unity Government through Minister of Tourism Hon Lindsay Grant set out on an ambitious plan to make St.Kitts the best destination in the world. That ambitious goal is quickly becoming a reality. St. KITTS has won the prestigious World Destination Stewardship award last evening in Seville Spain. The best destination in the world in sustainable tourism. One of three finalists the other two being Brazil and Philippines. The team of Permanent Secretary Carlene Henry- Morton and Assistant secretary Dianille Taylor- Williams’s were there to receive this coveted title.
This accolade is recognition that St. Kitts is leading the way globally in sustainable destination management, and is strategically balancing the great economic benefits of tourism with the need to minimise any negative impacts on society, culture and environment.
