Sandy Point PRIDE finishes 2nd in Charles Morton knockout tournament!

SANDY POINT, St. Kitts and Nevis (March 18, 2016)To put a spin on the familiar phrase- Keep your friends close and your biggest threat to a championship closer! In what fans described as round one of the Sandy Point derby, local basketball upstart Sandy Point PRIDE placed 2nd in the 2016 Charles Morton SKNABA knockout tournament.

SP PRIDE
After defeating reigning Premier league champions- St. Paul’s Tuff Notts in the first round of the One Night Tournament and reigning ‘A’ division champs- St. Peter’s Gunners in the second round, the lion hearted ballers fell short in the finals to Sandy Point rivals the SP Falcons.
“We are proud of our players. They showed tremendous heart tonight and this is a reminder of the work that is ahead of us if we are to achieve the goals that we set for this season!” said Randy Desuza PRIDE Manager.

In 3rd place was the Fig Tree Dirt revelers, making it a 1..2..3…finish on the night for the Sandy Point Clubs. The two finalists (PRIDE & FALCONS) will again face off on April 3rd as they begin their 2016 SKABA league campaign, a matchup that promises to draw scores of fans from the rural town to Basketball City as they rally behind their favorite players.
“We congratulate the Falcons on winning the knockout tournament. As a new club we believe that tonight’s showing is a positive sign of things to come. With a few more roster additions and fine tuning to come we will definitely be ready for opening night!” said Rameece Belboda- Team Coach
The PRIDE and the FALCONS are now inseparable, and if they keep up this pace and avoid the traps, the ‘A’ division finals could be a series that, as you might imagine, is too close to call! Buckle Up…Sandy Point Basketball is storming it’s way back to the top in a proud fashion!
