Basseterre, St.Kitts (February 11th 2016):- Raymond “Ras”  Pemberton who was charged with the attempted murder of his ex girlfriend has  pleaded guilty. His sentence will be delivered at a later date

The St Kitts Nevis Observer reported that on“Sunday morning (April 7 2013), a female originally from St. Johnston’s Village but who resides in Shadwell was brutally attacked and had to be hospitalized.

Investigations revealed that the woman, known as ‘Karen’, had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Raymond Pemberton alias “Ras” or “Attai”, of Carty Alley, Newtown.

The two resided together with their young daughter until the woman reportedly broke off the relationship and evicted him about a week prior to the incident.

It was said that the woman was walking in the Buckleys area in the presence of a male when Pemberton launched his attack with a machete. She reportedly put her hands up to shield her head and face from the chops”.

 

Pemberton led law enforcement officers on a Nationwide manhunt after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was captured and  picked up in the New Road area by a joint Police and Defence Force detail.
