A unique opportunity to strengthen your skills on  producing documentaries involving archives, within a Caribeean coproduction framework

For more than 20 years, EURODOC – International Lab for creative documentary production – has been training generations of professionals across Europe. Its main programme, designed for producers developing a feature-length documentary project with international potential, has helped nurture creative, committed, and passionate producers across Europe and beyond, now boasting a network of over 1 300 professionals.

In December 2022, a EURODOC22 training session will be organized for the first time in the Caribbean area, it will take place in Fort-de-France, in partnership with the partners of the Interreg CINUCA Project: the Association for the Promotion of Cinema in the Antilles and French Guyana (APCAG, Guadeloupe), the EPCC Tropiques Atrium Scène Nationale (Martinique), the Association Guyane-Cinéma Audiovisuel et Multimedia (G-CAM, French Guyana), the production company Lee Productions Inc. (Saint-Lucia) and the production company Hamafilms (Antigua & Barbuda). The Interreg CINUCA project is co-financed by the FEDER as part of the Interreg Caribbean V program.

From December 5 to 9, 2022, an intensive workshop on “Producing with archive” will bring together a group of a maximum of 15 professionals based in the Caribbean (all countries) to work on the development of their documentary project.  

WHEN: Monday, December 5 – Friday, December 9, 2022

WHERE: Fort-de-France (Martinique)

COVERAGE: As part of the Interreg CINUCA project, accommodation and flights will be covered. Tuition fee is 900€. Full scholarships will be available. 

WHO CAN APPLY: The workshop is aimed in particular at producers or directors-producers carrying out a project (theatre, TV, series) that use archives.

Projects can be at different stages (in writing, in development or in pre-production).

CONTENT: The workshop is grounded in collective work, under the supervision of a senior producer who acts as a tutor, enriched with individual consultation for each participant, two case studies with screenings and Q&As, masterclasses of specialists (archival producer and legal advisor, film director, archive institutions representatives). The two main lines of the workshop are the in-depth initiation to creative development and production of films involving diverse archival material, and initiation to film coproduction with and from the Caribbean.
