Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris is praising organisers of what is being described as the greatest edition of the 22 year old St. Kitts Music Festival.

Each night of concerts attracted record crowds with thousands filling the Warner Park Stadium Venue to capacity.

“It was certainly a tremendous pleasure to see the record crowds at this years St.Kitts Music Festival. This is no doubt testament to the leadership of the Team Unity administration and the Minister of Tourism Hon. Lindsay Grant along the hard work of the Organising Committee led by Chairman Damion Hobson. It is also testament to the current state of our country which continues to economically grow in leaps and bounds . The unprecedented success of the 22nd Edition of the St.Kitts Music Festival is yet another clear sign that Something Good is Happening in St.Kitts-Nevis. Unity Works !”

This years festival featured a number of changes in the organizing committee including a major change in the Production of the event. Rapheal Rodney and his team took over the production of the festival which proved to be a major factor in the success of the staging of the event with every night closing much earlier and on time. This change reflected the government’s desire to encourage, engage and empower our young people in the development of their country, themselves and our national events.

“I am proud of the festival organizing committee’s continued effort to ensure that as much of our young people are exposed to the world as performers as well as the growing opportunities for production and other personnel including service providers many of whom have been able to establish, expand or enhance their businesses through our Fresh Start programme and thus putting them in a position to be able to offer world class services to our Music Festival and other National Events. I am satisfied that under the Leadership of Minister Grant and Chairman Hobson the St.Kitts Music Festival is beginning to seriously climb to its full potential in terms of it’s contribution to and impact on the positive development of our Nation,” stated PM Harris

The line-up of  artistes for this years festival lived up to the hype and from the opening night it was clear that this year’s fest would be hugely successful.  The on stage performances of Spice, Sizzla Kalonji, Ms Lauryn Hill, Patti Labelle, Kes The Band, Destra, Dejour, Byron Messia, Sugar Band  and others were beyond memorable.

The Music Festival Committee for this year seemed to have found the right formula. The artistes line up was pleasing to everyone. The on time start and early ending were historic and welcoming.
