MV. Jaden Sun Makes Maiden voyage to St. Kitts & Nevis
Little Bay, Montserrat, March, 2017. The MV. Jaden Sun made its Maiden voyage to the twin island Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis with its port of call being Queen City – Nevis. The Ferry departed Montserrat at 7:30am with 42 passengers destined for Charles Town harbour Nevis on the 23rd February 2017. The ferry retuned to Montserrat the same day with some 38 stay over passengers and four passengers who travelled to Nevis for the day.
On Monday 27th February 2017 the vessel made its second 1 hour 20 minutes voyage to Nevis and returned to Montserrat with 24 passengers the same day. The trip was generally welcomed by both excursionists and stayovers alike who expressed a desire for the service to be offered on a regular basis. As a result, the Access Division will make every effort to facilitate similar trips to Nevis and other neighbouring islands starting with its Easter Weekend special trip on Saturday 15th April and returning on Easter Monday 17th April 2017. It is anticipated that these trips will be offered monthly or as is feasibly possible.
