Labour Women Pledge RED in recognition of International Women’s Day

 

Basseterre, St.Kitts (March 11th 2016):- The St.Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s “Winning with  Women” Group Pledged RED as they celerbrated International Women’s Day .

About 50 Women of Labour all dawned in their signature RED, gathered to celebrate the Internationally recognized day for women.

Chairman of the Opposition Group Hon. Marcella Liburd led the event which featured a number of presentations . Deputy Clerk of the Federal Parliament, Crown Counsel and Deputy High Court Registrar  Attorney Jihan Williams ,  Attorney Shemara Morton-Maynard along with Leader of the Opposition Dr. Denzil Douglas and his Parliamentary Colleague Hon. Konris Maynard addressed the gathering of women. Dr. Terrance Drew and Michealina Mills also gave presentations.

According to the Social Media Page of the St.Kitts Young Labour the Women’s Group “WINNING WITH WOMEN” made the following pledge:

 

“WINNING WITH WOMEN celebrates International Women’s Day.

PLEDGE:

We pledge to be fearless in the pursuit of equality, respect, diversity and opportunity for women everywhere.

We pledged commitment to self-development through education, entrepreneurship and leadership and to do so with dignity and integrity.

We pledge to take action to ensure that these qualities are embedded in all women.

On this day “We Pledge RED.”

 

While the Labour Women Pledged RED women around the world simly pledged for parity as  the International Women’s Day Theme 2016 was “Pledge For Parity”.
