BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – The government of National Unity of St. Kitts and Nevis, and in particular, the Public Works Department, invites the public to witness the official contract signing ceremony for Special Capital Road Projects Friday, April 6, at the Airport Roundabout at 4:30 p.m. The signing ceremony will be with small contractors.

The Honourable Ian Patches Liburd, minister of public infrastructure, indicated that the island main road had been neglected in maintenance and left in a dilapidated condition under the former Dr. Douglas-led administration. The Team Unity administration is now rescuing the island’s main road from further deterioration by undertaking an island-wide resurfacing project, which is to begin imminently.

The resurfacing of the island’s main road will enhance the state of the island’s road network, reduce wear and tear on vehicles, and reduce the cost of maintenance of vehicles, while adding to road safety.
