PORT au PRINCE / WILLEMSTAD.- Jarzinho Pieter, second goalkeeper with the Curaçao national football team died early Monday morning in Haiti.

According to preliminary reports Pieter fell ill Sunday evening after arriving in Haiti. He went to a doctor for treatment and went back to the hotel to sleep. This morning he was found dead lying in his bed. The nature of his illness is yet unknown.

The Curaçao team is in Haiti for the second leg of their Concacaf Nations League game. The first game played at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curaçao on Saturday ended in a 1-0 victory for Curaçao.

Curaçao and Haiti will play on Tuesday their second game in the Sylvio Cator Stadium in Port au Prince, Haiti.
