Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Shawn K. Richards has announced that once again The Government of the Republic of Cuba is making  available  six scholarships for citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis to pursue studies in Cuba. 

 

Two scholarships are available in Medicinal Sciences, one for a Bachelor of Higher Education Career, one in Health Technologies (Bachelor’s Degree), and two in Medical Specialties (for local graduates from the Latin American School of Medicine who work in public health institutions in St. Kitts and Nevis).

The Deputy Prime Minister encouraged young persons to take advantage of not only the Cuban Scholarships but also the pelthora of other schoarship opportunities that are available through and facilitated by the government.

‘I want to encourage our young people to please take advantage of the wide plethora of scholarships that are available to citizens of St.Kitts-Nevis both generally and specifically through and facilitated by the Government. The Government’s  Human Resource Management Department  has an active list of dozens of scholarship opportunities that are available for our young people. I encourage all to contact the department and get the necessary information and lists and APPLY, APPLY, APPLY !!!!” said Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Shawn Richards 

Applicants for the Cuban scholarships indicated must present certified copies of their birth certificates, high school and CAPE transcripts and certificates, passport information page, immunization card and a police record.

Applications must be received by the Human Resource Management Department on or before Monday, April 09, 2018. For further information contact the Human Resource Management Department at 467-1040.

To date, over 106 citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis have graduated from Cuban universities under the bilateral cooperation agreement between both countries . The eight (8) new scholarship recipients will increase the current number of students from the Federation studying in Cuba to forty-three (43).
