The weekend staging of the hugely popular BANGARANG Play featuring Jamaican Keith “Shebada” Ramsey  and Terri Salmon was a massive success. According to PRO Tasha Hendrickson the show drew upwards of 1500 patrons whichs was double the amount they expected and catered for.

The Event was the first fundraising activity organised by a recently established organization known as Champs for  Charity led by Shirley Julius.  The group was established to provide assistance to needy families and individuals throughout the island.

Public Relations Officer of the Champs for Charity Foundation, Tasha Hendrickson told local media outlet SKNVIBES  that based on the number of tickets sold, close to 1,500 individuals attended the show.
“The success of the show, without a doubt, was overwhelming. We had more persons than the tickets we printed. We printed 700 tickets and we ended up selling more at the gate. So we had more than enough people to achieve our objective. We had close to 1,500 people.”

With 1500 patrons including a sold out 700 tickets at  $50 and 800 persons paying $60 at the door according to PRO Hendrickson the Champs for Charity is certainly off to a fantastic start with close to $100,000 from their first fund raising event.

It is expected that an announcement will be made shortly indicating the first programme of assistance to be undertaken by the group as a result of the massive success of Bangarang.
