Atiba Continues to Give Back

by Staff Writer,

St.Kitts-Nevis National Football Team Captain Atiba Harris continues to conduct himself and his life in an exemplary manner and as such is setting the standard high as far as Profesional Athletes from St.Kitts-Nevis .

The MLS Star recently took time out to visit his Primary School alma mater  where he got his first taste and introduction into the sport that has made  him a household name in St.Kitts-Nevis, the Caribbean and even the world.

Harris visited the Deane-Glasford (St.Peters) Primary school where he was greeted by scores of enthusiastic children who were delighted to see their football idol . Harris’ visit served not only to interact with his adoring young fans and to visit his old school but also to give back to the school . The Dallas FC Midfielder donated a number of soccer balls to the school and the kids .

The donation follows Harris’ regular and continued contribution to his community of St.Peters. Harris is the sole Sponsor of the St.Peters Runnerz Basketball Club as well as a sponsor of the St. Peters FC. He has also donated to and sponsored various football camps throughout the island including the G.O.A.L.S Academy among others.

In April Atiba Harris took a step back from the game to honor a fan ahead of the MLS season, presenting a very special family with 2016 FC Dallas season tickets.

Harris presented Jenny Perez, her husband Tom and their two daughters with season tickets for the year at a surprise meeting in March, roughly a year after Perez was initially diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Perez family committed to getting FCD season tickets in 2015, but they were forced to give them up after Jenny’s diagnosis. Harris, 31, heard their story and was immediately moved, eventually deciding to give them with season tickets during a meeting with Jenny and Tom in March.
