Another Gun Off the Streets as St.Kitts Police Seize Illegal Firearm during Safety Patrol

 

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 15, 2016 (RSCNPF): A community safety patrol by men of the Tactical Unit in Cayon has resulted in the seizure of a .40mm pistol and a magazine with fourteen (14) rounds of .40mm ammunition.

 

While patrolling to ensure citizen safety in the “shanty town” area of Cayon around 8.20pm on Saturday (May 14) the officers pursued an individual of interest which resulted in the seizure of the firearm.

 

One individual was arrested and is in custody. Charges are likely to be filed.

 

This is brings to nine (9) the number of illegal firearms removed from our communities so far in 2016.  The last seizure was April 30, when a firearm was seized in the Frigate Bay area.
